
HOME ISOLATION
-
Should be home isolated only on doctor’s advice.

It is usually preferable for those who have very mild symptoms/those who are asymptomatic.
​

Oxygen saturation at room air should be more than 94%.
​

A caregiver should be available to provide care.
​
-
Not suitable for patients with immune suppression, cancer and HIV patients and transplant patients.
​
-
Should be allocated with a separate room with good ventilation and a separate bathroom.
​
DO's for the patient:
​
-
Should preferably change the three layered mask for every 8 hours/once the mask is wet.
​

Mask should be discarded only after disinfecting it with 1% Sodium Hypochlorite.
​
-
It is advisable to exercise for at least 30mins a day/to meditate.
​
-
Patient must take rest & should to be well hydrated.
​

Follow Respiratory etiquettes all the time
​
-
Should perform frequent hand washing/sanitize appropriately.
​

Not to share personal items with other people in the household
​

Should monitor his/her vitals every 4/6 hours and to note it down:

Pulse rate
-
Oxygen saturation
-
Temperature
-
BP

WASTE DISPOSAL:
​
Effective waste disposal must be ensured so as to prevent further spread of infection with household. It must be done as per as CPCB guidelines.

NOTE:
​
Immediate medical attention must be sought if serious signs or symptoms develop like Difficulty in breathing/lowering of oxygen saturation less than 94% /Persistent pain/Pressure in the chest/Mental confusion or inability to arouse.
The patients can end home isolation only after completion of 10 days from the day of onset of symptoms/from date of sampling with NO FEVER in the last three days.
There is no necessity of additional testing after the home isolation period is over.
