What is pulse oximeter?
Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive method for monitoring a person's oxygen saturation. The device for measuring it is called as a pulse oximeter.

How to use it?
Make sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions before using it.

Just insert your finger inside the probe and wait till you get your readings.

Note that your hand is warm

Try to be relaxed

Probe to be held below the level of the heart.

Remove any nail polish on that finger.

Be aware that multiple factors can affect the accuracy of a pulse oximeter reading.

The standard one's display:
A. Heart rate-Usually shown as PR
B. Oxygen saturation- Represented as %

Few signs of low oxygenation:

Bluish discoloration of the face, lips, or nails.

Shortness of breath

Difficulty in breathing

Restlessness
-
Fast or racing pulse rate.
